issue n1

This week brings you:

Kartell’s MD sale, a few short architecture videos, cement outdoor chairs, a utopic dystopia, a cool Brooklyn apartment, and a chill playlist!

Starting today, INTERIORED will be launching a weekly newsletter. YAY!

(Said newsletter will also be posted on the BLOG, so you can always come back to it and re-read any of the issues. The blog, by the way, will come with a useful little search tab at the bottom that will help you locate whatever you’re looking for by simply typing a single word. That’s it. You only need to remember ONE word.)

These issues, which will be coming to your inbox every SATURDAY morning, will briefly highlight interesting things I saw/read/heard that week. They will cover stuff like upcoming trends, new construction technologies, cool homes from around the globe, modern gadgets for your kitchen, something fab I saw on sale, a movie recco with an interesting set design, or a pillow you need to buy.

These are still uncharted territories, and although the topics will mostly remain in the lifestyle/design realms, I might throw in a little extra something every now and then. Like a playlist, or a meme. Depends on the mood!

Also, I’d like to treat this digest, and the blog in general, as an open conversation, so PLEASE don’t hesitate to comment, ask questions, or give any feedback, by simply replying to the e-mail. We can also start a friendly little chat on the comment section of the blog post. And of course, If you’d like to learn more about a specific subject or you come up with a fun idea I could include in here or on the blog: Help a sister out!

Lastly, if you think you know someone that might enjoy this PRICELESS CONTENT, do them a favor and share it :-)

Now, let’s begin with issue número uno!

On Sale: Kartell

From May 18th to May 26th they’re having a 30% sale on ALL ORDERS. I’m adding a few things to my cart, including the wine glasses from the Jellies collection by Patricia Urquiola. And probably the all-time favorite Componibili (in copper!). And maybe a few of these acrylic shelves, by Ludovica and Roberto Palomba, to give my WFH area a chic update!

These 6 short videos (of no more than 3 min each) give you a clear understanding of some of the most influential architectural currents. It’ll come in handy when you’re driving around ‘house shopping’, which is a personal passion of mine.

SPONECK CHAIR SWISSPEARL

This delicately minimal (and lightweight!) design is actually made from cement composite. The environmentally conscious material is entirely recyclable, but meant to last for generations as it is highly resilient against sun, frost, and humidity. A couple of these around the yard would be to die!

For your viewing pleasure: Soft Geometry's 'What if'

Utharaa L. Zacharias and Palaash Chaudhary, the team behind Soft Geometry, teamed up 11 studios from all over the world to create a virtual gallery showcasing imagined pieces of furniture. Inspired by the uncertainty brought to the world by the ongoing global pandemic, the pieces were then masterfully visualized, very surrealistically so, by Nicolás Cañelas, from Spot Studio.

The furniture layout here is just SMART. It has plenty of seating room and yet doesn’t feel crowded. To make the best out of our space we need to give every.square.inch the importance and respect it deserves, and strive for a layout that maximizes the open areas as much as possible. By thinking outside of the box, even an awkward corner can be an ally, like in this petite ‘corner office’.

Aaand this is where I leave you today, but not before sharing my most recently curated playlist, which I’ve been playing on a loop for the last 6 months (since March). It’s great for cooking, working, or conversing with friends. I’d describe as ‘pleasant background noise’: Fairly upbeat without being distracting.

Until next week :-)
